The most essential piece of equipment really for the ghost hunter is a good torch. You are going to be in dark conditions for long periods, some locations do not have power and the last thing you need is not to be able to see where you are going and suffer the consequences of that! We recommend a good quality regulated LED torch.

One of these is going to give you a good run time, the regulation helps to maintain brightness and because there's no bulb involved with LED lights they'll stand up to the odd drop or two. Don't be fooled by size either, many of the latest small led flashlights can really throw some serious light out and will fit nicely in your pocket or on a belt clip. If you use a red filter just like the military and pilots do you'll maintain your own eyes night vision as well. We also recommend bringing a spare set of batteries as paranormal encounters can result in your batteries being drained of life.
