Scary Play

Since Playbox Theatre opened at The Dream Factory ten years ago in Warwick, there have been stories of strange ‘bumps’ and other sounds late at night.The lift to the technical control gallery has run up and down with no passengers. There is a story – no one at Playbox knows for sure – that the building stands on the site of an old plague pit (burial ground) for Warwick, that had to be a distance outside the gates of the town.
Perhaps with Scary Play there is a heightened tension but during the last week, alarms were set off at 6.00am – no one in the building at all. A search revealed nothing suspect – a security beam had been crossed by something inside the complex.
A source has assured us that its business as usual for hundreds of young people rehearsing Starry Nights this week but when the doors are locked at night, no one wants to stay in the building…
