Since a very young age, I have always been interested in the ‘paranormal’ and have experienced many unexplained incidents such as ‘just knowing’ what was going to happen next onto not venturing into a certain building? Little did I realise at the time that it was my psychic ability keeping me in check.
So back when my friend agreed to come with me to a paranormal event I was so excited and couldn’t wait to go. I remember spending the whole evening with my friend clinging onto me all night (I’ve still got the nail marks to prove it) and me smiling all the way through and to be honest I still do!

My Scariest Incident.

Although I haven’t felt scared on a vigil there was one occasion in the Cave at Guys Cliffe House that really freaked me out! It was an incident with the dowsing rods and they were really being moved by someone or something else!

The Creepiest Location?

The creepiest location for me has to be the Coach House at GCH. Although nothing has actually happened to me (yet!) it really makes me feel really uncomfortable. I’m always the last one in and the first one to leave! There really is something very creepy about it!

Most Like to Investigate?

To be honest, I’d like to investigate everywhere…..there are so many places we visit and so many new places we will be attending, the list is endless. I’m just really excited about going!

Funniest moment on a Ghost Hunt.

Well, there are probably far too many to mention but they usually involve another member of the team, mainly one of the boys, no names mentioned, running away like a scaredy-cat!

Former soldier's spooky Darwen Tower vigil

A FORMER soldier is to hold a 12-hour lone vigil at Darwen Tower to raise money for his injured comrades.

Ex-infantry man Trevor Jones is also hoping to document any paranormal activity as darkness descends on the landmark.

Mr Jones, who served for six years with the 1st battalion of the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment, is carrying out the vigil on March 21 to raise money for the Help 4 Heroes charity. He will stay at the site from 6pm to 6am.

The 53-year-old is now looking for sponsors and also hopes to borrow two paraffin lamps to light his base camp.

He said: “I joined the army at 17 because I’d always viewed soldiers as heroes. In those days everyone wanted to get into camouflage. I served in Northern Ireland where the conflict was continuous, and so I decided to leave.”

“I think it is very important that we give our backing to those who serve in the armed forces, especially those who come home wounded, which is why I am carrying out my vigil.”

Mr Jones, who has worked at Crown Paints and as a security guard at Blackpool’s Sea Life Centre since leaving the army, added: ‘‘I will carry out my vigil as though a senior officer has asked me to check the site out.

“I am hoping there will be some kind soul who will lend me a couple of Tilly Lamps so I can utilise my chosen spot as a base station.”

Mr Jones, of St Albans Road, Darwen, will be dimming the lights in the early hours of the morning to try to clarify rumours that the site is haunted.

He said: “Things are never quite what they seem and there is always the chance that old monuments hold other secrets and scenarios which would greatly shock those who would never believe it.”

EMF Meters

The assumption is that paranormal activity can be registered as spirit energy harnesses electro-magnetic energy and therefore EMF meters have come into play. There are degrees of refinement and field ranges in the models available and some models are especially tailored towards the paranormal investigator by having backlights and covering the specific EMF fields most relevant to paranormal activity. Side Note -- If there is a group of you it is not necessary for everyone to have an EMF meter, it’s distracting having multiple meters registering fluctuations in vigil conditions.
