On guard over the Avon stands this great castle that rose in Saxon times from earlier roots. Never shaken by battle but certainly stirred by the drama of life it’s walls have harboured powerful earls who have shaped history.  Here death and revenge have bared their teeth, perhaps leaving a legacy so that in dark places here we may brush with shades of the past? An exorcised spectral hound, a ghost that emerges from a portrait, these are but two of the well known hauntings that history records. Cleaners and security personnel report encounters with others. Do those who should be at rest still stir in the dark places of the fortress of Warwick?
